Grants will go towards capital items that improve farm productivity through more efficient use of water for irrigation, adopting best practice irrigation application equipment and securing water supplies through construction of on-farm reservoirs.
To ensure funding is available to support the widest number of projects, while committing to supporting higher value projects which align with the fund’s objectives, the grant available is between £35,000 and £500,000 and will cover up to 40% of the cost of the project. Applicants are free to undertake larger projects, but the highest allocation available is £500,000.
